Dr. Moataz Gharaibeh
Prof. Dr. Moataz Gharaibeh is one of the leading figures in ophthalmology in Jordan and the region, combining distinguished academic achievements with extensive clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating eye diseases in both children and adults. He currently serves as Professor in the Department of Special Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Jordan, and as Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at Jordan University Hospital. He also previously served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
Throughout his professional career, Prof. Gharaibeh has played a significant role in advancing both medical practice and education in ophthalmology. He serves as Chairman of the Jordanian Board Committee for Ophthalmology and participates as an examiner for both the Jordanian and Arab Board examinations in Ophthalmology, reflecting his scientific standing and his contribution to training future generations of ophthalmologists.
Prof. Gharaibeh completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at George Washington University in the United States and obtained a fellowship in Laser Vision Correction from Miguel Hernández University in Spain. These advanced training programs have provided him with extensive expertise in managing complex and specialized cases in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and refractive surgery.
Prof. Gharaibeh has published more than 100 scientific papers and research articles in international conferences and peer-reviewed medical journals in the field of ophthalmology. He continues to maintain an active academic and research role as a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Jordan.
